Pay Equity

Equal pay for employees who perform the same or similar work.

Full Definition

Pay equity (also called equal pay) is the principle that employees should receive equal compensation for performing the same work, regardless of gender, race, age, or other protected characteristics. Pay equity has both a legal dimension (compliance with equal pay laws) and a strategic dimension (building a fair, inclusive culture). HR analytics tools enable organizations to conduct regular pay equity audits, identify unjustified pay gaps, and take corrective action.
